The Handball Federation announced yesterday the national team's preparation program, led by Portuguese coach Rolando Freitas, ahead of their participation in the 22nd Asian Championship. The tournament, scheduled to take place in Kuwait from January 15 to 22, is a qualifier for the 2027 World Cup. The preparation program kicks off today with a friendly match against Oman at the Dibba Al-Hisn club hall, followed by an internal training camp from December 26 to 30. Subsequently, the team will hold an external training camp in Oman, featuring two friendly matches against Oman and Guinea on January 2 and 3, respectively. This will be followed by an external training camp in Qatar from January 4 to 8, including two friendly matches against the Qatari team on January 5 and 7. Additionally, the team will conduct a third external training camp in Saudi Arabia, starting January 8, with two friendly matches against the Saudi and Japanese teams.
