This appointment is part of a cabinet reshuffle in the Kuwaiti government. Al-Jalahma is considered one of the most prominent Kuwaiti football stars in the attacking position at both Gulf and Arab levels. During his career with Al-Qadsiah, he won several titles, including the Kuwaiti League, the Crown Prince Cup, and the Emir Cup, contributing to solidifying the club's status as one of the most prominent in Kuwaiti football history. Following his retirement from playing, Al-Jalahma transitioned to the media field, working as a sports analyst for several prominent sports channels, including Abu Dhabi Sports and beIN Sports. He also holds a PhD in Physical Education, along with coaching certificates from the Asian Football Confederation. Today, an emiri decree was issued in the State of Kuwait, numbered (11/2026), which stipulates a cabinet modification to several ministerial portfolios. This move is part of an effort to enhance the government's performance efficiency in several vital sectors. The cabinet reshuffle in the government of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah included the appointment of Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yousef Al-Sayyed Hashem Al-Rifai as Minister of Finance, Osama Khaled Abdullah Al-Boudi as Minister of Commerce and Industry, Riem Ghazi Saud Al-Fulaij as Minister of State for Development and Sustainability, Tarek Hamad Naser Al-Jalahma as Minister of State for Youth and Sports, Abdulaziz Naser Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Abdullah Subih Abdullah Buftain as Minister of Information and Culture.
