The General Authority of Civil Aviation of the State of Kuwait has submitted a formal protest letter to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This was done against the backdrop of serious violations and Iranian aggressions that targeted the sovereignty of the state in its airspace and at the facilities of Kuwait International Airport. The Authority confirmed in the letter, which was broadcast by the Kuwait News Agency today, that these aggressions constitute a blatant violation of the international conventions and agreements governing civil aviation, noting that they exposed the safety of passengers, airlines, and workers at Kuwait International Airport, as well as the airport's facilities, to grave dangers. The Authority explained that these events led to disruption of air traffic, which necessitated the suspension of all flights, and caused significant financial losses to the civil aviation sector, injuries, and exposed the security and safety of passengers and facilities to risk. The Authority emphasized in its letter the importance of the International Civil Aviation Organization taking the necessary measures to protect the airspace and civil facilities and prevent the recurrence of such violations, which would ensure the safety and security of civil aviation and the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait over its airspace and the buildings and facilities belonging to Kuwait International Airport in accordance with international standards.
