Gulf Cup for Veteran Players Kicks Off in Kuwait

The Gulf Football Federation announced the organization of four matches daily in the preliminary round of the Veterans Gulf Cup in Kuwait from February 22 to 26. Eight Gulf teams will participate in the event held at Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium.


Gulf Cup for Veteran Players Kicks Off in Kuwait

The Persian Gulf Association announced the holding of four games weekly at the stadium of the preliminary round of the Persian Gulf Cup among veterans, which will be held from February 22 to 26 at the Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Stadium in Kuwait.

The first tournament includes participation from 8 teams from the Persian Gulf, which are divided into two groups. In the first group, teams from the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman will compete, while in the second group, teams from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen are represented. Each match of the tournament lasts 40 minutes – 20 minutes each half.

The national teams of Iraq and Yemen open the matches on Saturday, February 22. After that, there will be a game between the national teams of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, after which teams from Oman and Qatar will compete. The round concludes with a match between Kuwait and Oman.

The national team continues its training sessions, preparing for the championship. All players selected for participation in the tournament will take part in the training sessions under the guidance of coach Jumaa Rabie and his assistant Walid Abid, including Majid Naser, Walid Salem, Bashir Said, Muhand Al-Anazi, Youssef Jabir, Mundir Ali, Jumaa Khattara, and others.
