The authorities of Kuwait have announced the revocation of citizenship from preacher Tareq Al-Suwaidan and from those who acquired it through dependency. The announcement came in the form of an emiri decree, published in the official gazette of Kuwait. The decree, numbered 227 for the year 2025, consists of two articles. The first article states: "The Kuwaiti citizenship of Tareek Mohammed Al-Saleh Al-Suwaidan is revoked, as is that of anyone who may have acquired it through dependency with him". The second article of the decision states: "The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior is tasked with implementing this decree, which shall take effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the official gazette".
