Yesterday, on Thursday, the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait announced the revocation of citizenship for 962 individuals for various reasons.
As stated in the announcement by the Ministry on their official page on the "Ex" platform, the committee made the following decision: "Revoke the Kuwaiti passport in society under Article (11) of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments, which includes 13 cases (to avoid double citizenship)."
"Deprive the Kuwaiti citizenship in society under Article (21 bis) of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments, which includes 186 cases of fraud and abuse (subsection) or those who acquired their citizenship by inheritance."
The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait clarified that the decision to "deprive Kuwaiti citizenship in society under Article 13, paragraph (1) of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments, which includes 82 cases of fraud and abuse (subsection) or the acquisition of citizenship by inheritance."
