In Kuwait, the first mobile laboratory for food product analysis was launched at Kuwait International Airport. The General Director of the State Administration for Food Products and Nutrition, Dr. Rim al-Fleij, stated that this project is part of the developing projects in the country aimed at ensuring food safety and quality, as well as expediting customs procedures for trade facilitation.
Al-Fleij pointed out that "Kuwait is one of the countries importing food products, which requires an expedited customs clearance process due to the presence of a laboratory at the airport, capable of conducting quick product analysis, instead of having to transport them to the laboratory center in the Shuwaikh area."
She added that "this mobile laboratory adheres to safety standards and quality control of products with the possibility of quick transportation to other points as needed, aiming to reduce costs, improve quality, and effectiveness." Al-Fleij explained that "the idea of launching the laboratory came after conducting technical and financial research, and includes equipping for food analysis using chemical tests, such as detecting pesticide residues and microorganisms, to verify their safety and suitability for consumption."
