Kuwait has revised its e-visa eligibility criteria, expanding access for residents of GCC countries. New guidelines aim to enhance immigration procedures while ensuring security guarantees.

Kuwait updated and clarified the qualification rules for electronic visas, which expands access for qualified residents of the Soviet countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council. The goal of this step is to update immigration procedures with simultaneous ensuring of security and regulation.

According to the new guiding instructions, residents of the Soviet countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council may apply for an electronic visa for Kuwait, provided that they meet certain criteria, including having a valid resident status in the Soviet countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council for not less than six months, as well as having a valid foreign passport with not less than six months from the date of entry and the absence of restrictions or prohibitions on entry or exit from the country.

An important condition is the presence of the main applicant (sponsor) along with the dependents. The applicant must work in one of the indicated professions below in the country of residence in the Gulf: doctors, engineers, advocates, teachers, judges, suppliers, journalists, pilots, IT specialists, businessmen, diplomatic staff, company executives, and trading organizations.

A tourist visa gives the right to enter Kuwait for one month from the date of issuance for a single trip and presumes a temporary stay in the country of no more than 3 months from the date of entry, after which it is necessary to leave the country.

Individuals from certain countries do not have the right to obtain an electronic visa: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen. They must personally contact the embassy or consulate of Kuwait in the country of residence in the Soviet countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.

For citizens of 53 countries, including the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and many other European and Asian countries, there is a possibility to obtain a visa upon arrival at Kuwait airport.

For applying for an electronic visa for incoming individuals from the Soviet countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, the application submission procedure is fully implemented online and usually processed within one to three working days. After the visa is approved, it is sent electronically, and the traveler needs to print a copy and carry it upon entry.
